Our weekend away at the BeachHouse

It's so nice having my parents second home only an hour away from our house. It is the perfect little getaway when we need a break from our normal routine. This weekend we just hung out with family, Wyatt went on a ride with my Dad, walked the San Clemente Pier and farmer's market and of course we had to make a trip down to San Diego for some of our FAVORITE BBQ...Phil's! It was a great little weekend away!

Crew has been obsessed with taking my point and shoot camera and snapping some photos. I thought I would share a few with you that he took this weekend while we were staying at the Beach House. (That's what you get when you sleep in a let your kids just roam the house.) I think he is pretty darn good!

So You Think You Can Dance

Today I went to the taping of SYTYCD with some friends. It was such a blast! Here is how the day went down... When we got to the studio we had to wait in a long line for awhile to finally get in and then got assigned some "filler" seats in the VIP section. Lindsey and I got lucky enough to sit right next to Pauline's Mom and brother. And since she got kicked off tonight we got on camera when they show her mom after they announce it's her last week. It was such a cool experience and we loved being there in person. This was my first time being in a live audience and will not be my last visit. I loved it! After the taping we walked to the Grove and ate dinner at Maggiano's which just so happens to be where all of the dancers eat after the show. During dinner Alyssa, Lindsey and I decided we "need to go the bathroom" which is upstairs right next to the dancers private party. Good thing because (lucky us) we ran into Russell, Kevin, Pauline and Legacy. I had such a great night...Thank you Wyatt (and John) for watching the boys and giving me a much needed break.

Third St. Promenade in Santa Monica

Saturday we had our family pictures taken in Santa Monica and then decided to head over to the Third St. Promenade to walk around and have some dinner with the Willis'. We went to FatBurger, danced to the jukebox and watched the USC/ASU football game while we ate. Then we let the boys run around a little bit before we headed back home. We had such a fun time with Brett, Sachia and Sienna but by the end of the day we were dead tired...next time...NO Kiddos! WOW! I don't think I have been that tired in a long, long time.

Trick-or-Treat

We had such a busy but fun Halloween this year. It started with our "adult" costume party, a little kiddo party, trunk-or-treat and then trick-or-treating. On Halloween we got a phone call from my parents that they are going to ride the train up from the Beach House to downtown LA to spend the day..so we met them at Union Station and then headed over to the nickel diner to try their famous glazed donuts dipped in bacon (they really were good but so rich), drove around the fashion district, hung out on Olvera Street for a little and ate some yummy Mexican food. We headed back up to Pasadena and stopped by the Father of the Bride house to show my parents and then it was back to our house to get the boys ready for trick or treating. Crew thought trick or treating was the coolest thing...he loved that everyone was just handing him candy all night..and Hudson was just happy with a little sucker. After all the sweets I made some yummy shrimp tacos for dinner with pineapple salsa. They were almost as good as Tia Rosa's. Thanks Mimi and Papa Rick for spending Halloween with us. We had a great time!

Every year Wyatt and I talk about throwing a Halloween Party but never get around to it. This year was the year we decided to really go for it. And let me tell you it was such a blast! We had a couples costume party. It was so much fun seeing all of the creative costumes everyone came up with. At the party we had yummy soups, tons of desserts, played family feud, bobbed for apples, chatted, voted for best costume (Way to go Octomom!) and sang some karaoke. Thanks so much to Sachia, Kristie, Lauren and Laura for all your help with everything. I could not have done any of this with out you.

Pumpkin Patch

Since Wyatt is mostly done with midterms we decided it would be a good night to take the boys to the little pumpkin patch down the street from our house. The boys loved it and are now looking forward to carving their pumpkins. Crew said, "Mom I want to cook my pumpkin." So I told him we can make a yummy Pumpkin Pie! Oh.. we love the FALL!
