Mexico Day 2: Tulum, Chichen Itza & Cenote

on the Tulum ghetto train/tractor to the ruins

I could live here.

These iguanas are seriously everywhere in Cancun!

Tulum Ruins Beach

Unreal views for days

::Chichen Itza::

We learned a lot about the Mayan's today on our cool to see these old old ruins they built forever ago. I loved hearing all about the symbolism of everything and also how a lot of it correlates to us LDS peeps.

If you have never swam in a cenote, you need to add it to your bucket list. This was our favorite part of the day. It was so gorgeous and unlike anything I've ever seen before. This particular cenote (swimming hole) is a pretty famous one...Red Bull has a jump competition into it every year. The water was so fresh and crisp feeling. It was a bit on the colder side compared to the ocean water temperature but was so refreshing! I was really hesitant to get in at first bc there were little black catfish swimming all over in it...kind of freaked me out. Finally I got in and Wyatt even convinced me to jump in with him. Well...on the count of 3, I jumped in solo. Thanks Wy. Love you too.

Hands down the Best Churros I've ever had! This guy made them fresh off his cart and filled the middle with a homemade carmel sauce...amazing!!

Playa Del Camen here we come!!!

Flying without kids is AMAZING!

I couldn't get over how green and lush Cancun is...oh...and SO humid!

All of the resorts we passed on the way to our resort had the prettiest entrances

LDS Chapel

The Lobby of The Royal in Playa del Carmen

1st item on our list: Toes in the sand

the resort grounds

checking out the 5th Avenue shops

this cute little boy made Crew + Hudson bracelets. Everyday  when we passed by him after this night he always went out of his way to say hi to Wyatt and I. Cutest thing!!

Wyatt and I were way overdue for a vacation together. Our last trip together, alone was our cruise during Wyatt's first year of dental school.

Thursday morning our US Airways flight left about 8:45am from Phoenix. Our seats were terrible on the way to Cancun, we sat in the very last row of the airplane and there was NO room for Wyatt's poor leg. I felt terrible for him, especially since the guy sitting in front of him kept pushing his seat further and further back. We survived though and made it safe and sound to Cancun.

Once in Cancun we had arranged for Alma LDS tours to pick us up from the airport and take us to our hotel. He was there waiting for us and it took us about 40 minutes to get to The Royal.

Funny we checked into our room and when we checked in there was only 1 glass of champagne sitting waiting. (We stayed at an all-inclusive so they assume everyone drinks) Well I had first booked our hotel through travelocity and I guess Wyatt said he saw our room for a cheaper price so he cancelled my reservation and re made one. was cheaper bc he booked the resort for 1 person. HAHA...we paid the difference, got our water instead of champagne and were on our way.

They put us up in the way back of the resort where they happened to be doing some construction. We complained and were getting moved to a different room tomorrow.

After getting settled in our room, we headed down to the beach and put our toes in the sand and water and died and went to heaven. The water was unreal. So warm and blue! And the sand was like powdered sugar on your feet...amazing!

That night we grabbed dinner at one of the restaurants at the resort and then went to walk around 5th Avenue. 5th Avenue has everything from local shops to Forever 21, Mac and surf shops.

It was a great first day in Playa Del Carmen!!

Summertime Swimming!

These kids could swim all day long, every day if I let them. They are constantly making up new games to play and just love swimming with each other and their friends. It's a must having a pool if you live in Arizona. We're hooked now & can never go without!

Indoor Soccer Camp

Crew LOVES Soccer so I signed him up with some of his friends to do a two week long indoor soccer camp at The Barn in Queen Creek. Some professional British soccer players fly here to teach the camp. It was a fabulous camp and Crew learned so many new techniques and fundamentals about Soccer. Crew loved every minute of it and came home everyday exhausted!
